NHS Weight-Loss Injections Now Available – But Only for Those Who Meet Strict Criteria

Did you know that weight-loss management, including prescription weight-loss injections, is now available on the NHS?
However, this treatment is only accessible to a very specific group of patients who have the highest clinical need. The eligibility criteria are strict and must be met in full before the treatment can be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for NHS-funded weight-loss injections, patients must:
- Have a BMI of 40 or above (*adjusted for ethnicity)
- AND
- Have at least 4 out of the following 5 health conditions:
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
- High blood pressure
- Heart disease
- Obstructive sleep apnoea (where breathing stops and starts during sleep)
- Abnormal blood fats (dyslipidaemia)

Please Consider Before Requesting
This treatment is not suitable for general weight loss or for those who do not meet the above criteria. It is intended to support patients with severe health risks where traditional weight management strategies have not been effective.
If you believe you may be eligible and meet the full criteria, please speak to your GP or a member of our clinical team to discuss your options.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage all patients to seek personalised advice before requesting this medication.
